Weekly Finish..Or Not: Halloween Stash Buster Challenge 2022

Image
This is my second quilt top for the  2022 Stash Buster Challenge  by Border Creek Station using the Jericho Walls block.  I posted about my first challenge quilt top here . My first top has 32 blocks but the challenge requires 52 blocks to enter the drawing.  So, instead of making one huge quilt with 52 blocks, I opted to make 2 "smaller" quilts - albeit they're not so small! I made this Halloween top using a bundle of coordinating fabric I've had in my stash for over a year.  It included two panels, one of which featured the 8 ravens.  The fabric line is Raven Moon by Robert Kaufman. I didn't have nearly enough fabric from the bundle to finish the top and luckily I found more online to purchase.  I also used similar fabric from my stash.  The top has 44 blocks and measures about full size .   Add these 44 to the 32 blocks from my first quilt and I surely meet the 52-block requirement. I thought I'd finish the quilt by Halloween but it's...

WIP Wednesday: Dandy Star Stash Buster

Image
The Dandy Star block was last year's Stash Buster Challenge by Border Creek Station .   I made this red and white quilt for the challenge and loved it so much that I wanted to make another. Quilt by Lynda Gray I was motivated by this one because I have a bin full of green fabrics I've had for years.  But once I started working on my blocks I lost inspiration.  My greens just aren't speaking to me so I decided to call it quits after making these 42 blocks.  I thought I would just bind it and call 'er done but maybe I'll add an inner border and do a pieced outer border to spruce it up. Weekly Finish..Or Not: RSC 2022 Picket Star Top

Image
I finally finished the 3rd quilt top for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge.  The block is the Picket Star pattern from Sew Preeti .   The block finishes at 17" and there are 30 blocks.  This top is BIG --  a queen size. I decided to finish it before the challenge ends in December and move on to other projects.  It's now in my UFO pile and won't get quilted until next year.
