Potholder Pass Swap #2

Image
A few weeks ago I signed up for the second round of the Potholder Swap over at Amy’s During Quiet Time . These are the potholders I made to send to my swap partner.  I made them using an instruction book I received from my swap partner Jeannie.  It is "101 Fun-to-Quilt Potholders" by Trice Boerens and has ideas for all sorts of occasions. I also included this set of 4 coasters, using the same fabric as the potholders.  I created a tutorial that shows you how to make these fun, easy coasters.  Just click here to make your own! I also used some of the leftover fabric to trim a dish towel.  So, these are being sent off today, and I hope my swap partner likes them.  If you’d like to see what everyone else is making, you can take a look here at Flickr . Happy quilting!

She Received Them!

Heida from Handmade by Heidi got her potholders!  I ran across her post and saw this picture.  I was thrilled to read that she was happy with her surprise package.  I had so much fun making them that I’ve already signed up for round two!  Potholders are quick and easy to sew and make great gifts.   Happy quilting!

She included a lovely note and said this was her first-time paper piecing, “I hope it’s not obvious.”  Well, I think they’re perfect!  I love the quilting design on these.  All potholders are due by mid-February so there’s about another week left to get ‘em all done.  I am so happy that I finished my set and they’re on their way to their new home: I used two simple block designs for my set: Hole in the Barn and Puss in the Corner.  These were easy to make, except I had a little problem with the loop.  I tried to follow this tutorial but for some reason, my brain just wasn’t getting it.  I finally figured it out and am pleased with the way they came out.  Now that I’ve done my...
