A Very Coriander Christmas #300 Finished Size:  72" x 92" I am so, so happy to get this quilt finally done.   I finished the top in October and thought I'd complete it by Christmas 2021.  Well, that certainly didn't happen.  So, here I am, almost a year later, and it is now ready for Christmas 2022! Yay! I quilted it with an E2E Baptist Fans design.  This is my second quilt using this design and I think I did a better job this time.  Practice, practice, and lots of patience pay off. The backing has a simple floral design with dark red and greenish-gray colors that complement the colors on the front. This was a block of the month project and I previously posted about it  here . The pattern book is still available.  And, although the original fabrics may be hard to find, the pattern would look lovely in a different colorway.  Here's one I may put on my project list for next year.   Finally finished my BOM A Very Coriander Christmas quilt started last October.  I love it!!  I hope I can finish it by Christmas. It looks complicated but the blocks measure 18.5" so the pieces are not too small.  It also helps that the instructions were clear, although I would say this is not a beginner quilt.  I consider myself an intermediate quilter but I mostly like to make quick and easy quilts. This top was by far one of the more intricate designs I've made -- next to Bonnie Hunter's mystery quilts.   Next in line is another BOM Christmas quilt which is a 7-month project.  I should be receiving the first package any day soon.  And I am looking forward to Bonnie's 2021 mystery quilt which should be coming out over the next few weeks. And I'm still working on my Y2K quilt -- I hope you all don't get tired of reading about it but blogging helps keep me focused as well as my quilting goals.  There are way too many squirrels floating...

  Last week I posted about a couple new projects I was working on.  I put those aside to start working on my Uncle Sam's Patriotic quilt which is one of my 2021 quilting goals.  Well, it was my goal to have it finished by July 4th so I'm a bit late ... or maybe I'm just very early for next year LOL. I've always completed a project before I started another one.  I was impatient to see the finished product and couldn't wait to finish.  But this year has been different because I've been working on a few ongoing monthly projects.  I find that I rather like working on several projects at a time as it helps break up the monotony of working on a single project.   And this is the final block for the Very Coriander Christmas BOM quilt.  Gosh, I can't believe it's been 10 months since I made my first block. This final monthly kit also included all the fabric to finish the top.  Once the top is assembled, all I need to add is the fabric for the binding...

  Finally finished blocks 10 and 11 from A Very Coriander Christmas BOM and that means I'm all caught up.  Yea!  Next month I'll be getting the 12th and final block kit which also includes the fabrics to finish the top plus binding.   Old Time Christmas Patchwork BOM Since A Very Coriander Christmas BOM is coming to an end, I need another BOM to take its place.  Of course!  When I saw this Old Time Christmas Patchwork BOM at Shabby Fabrics , I quickly reserved my spot.  The program starts in October and I'm really excited to start working on these blocks. These BOM kits kept coming and before I knew it I had 5 kits that needed my attention. Blocks 7-8-9 So over the past few days, I made 3 more blocks. Original Block 8 My Block 8 I'm a little disappointed with the fabric cuts I received for Block 8.  I prefer the red fabric in the original block instead of the busy print I received in my kit.

Blocks 5 and 6 I haven't had much time for quilting and have fallen behind in my BOM for the Very Coriander Christmas quilt.  I've had 3 block kits sitting around and I'm pretty sure April's kit will be here soon.   So I made some time this past weekend to work on Blocks 5 and 6 (January-February) and finished them today.  The blocks are 18" square and are not very difficult, but they do have several pieces and HSTs so they can be time-consuming. Here are my completed six blocks so far.  I am so glad I decided to do this BOM sampler quilt.  I love each block and am excited to see the completed quilt. One block a month should be doable but sometimes other projects take priority, so i t'll probably be a few weeks before I can get to the rest of the blocks done.  Until next time ...  Be happy and keep on quilting! I finally put together 20 of my extra heart blocks into this lap-size quilt top.  There is a lot of white in the background so I opted for a smaller 1-inch sashing with color cornerstones.   I couldn't decide whether or not to add borders.  What color inner border should I add?  What about the outer border? Then I thought about adding a pieced border.  Maybe pinwheels or 4-patch units?  I auditioned a few units with and without a white inner border, and nothing seemed to be right.  I finally decided to use the leftover 2.5" strips I used to make the blocks to create a scrappy border ... and voila!  Now onto quilting and binding.  Hopefully, I can finish before Valentine's Day.

I've made some progress on my Charming Christmas top since last week when I posted about it here . The pattern calls for 25 Jacobs Ladder blocks but I made my top smaller with only 20 blocks.   I am so glad I decided to go with a pieced outer border rather than a solid one.  I had some leftover HSTs and used these to make 3" hourglass units for the border. I still have to figure out the backing and then quilt it.  I hope to get it finished next week. My Floral Lucky Stars top is another work-in-progress which I posted about two months ago.  I'm finally quilting it this week and it should be a Friday Finish.  Can't wait! And, today I finished Give A Gift block 3 in A Very Coriander Christmas BOM subscription.  It feels good to be caught up. This is the first time I've participated in a block-of-the-month program. The blocks do look complicated but they're pretty big at 18" so the pieces are not difficult to work with. I am really enjoying the leisure ...

 I've made some progress on my Charming Christmas top since I posted about it here .  The center blocks are done and now I need to do the outer half-blocks.  It'll continue to be a WIP over the next week or two. And, here's more progress on my Frolic Mystery quilt which I started back in January and previously posted about it  here  and  here .  I finally  got it quilted. I usually make lap- or throw-size quilts so this quilt is one of the largest I've had to quilt.  It measures about 82" square and I was anxious about quilting it. Since the top is so scrappy, I chose this simple scroll pantograph.  It was a fast and easy design, and I'm happy with the results.  I just need to bind it so hopefully, I'll have the quilt completed by Friday.   And, I finally finished Sparkle & Shine Block 2 of A Very Coriander Christmas BOM.  I love this block!  The pattern book includes a bonus Season of Stars  quilt with ...

  I made this Christmas quilt top 10 years ago using charm packs from Kate Spain's 12 Days of Christmas.  The pattern is a Charm Pack Quilt Along by Freckled Whimsy.  Surprisingly, the instructions for this quilt are still available here . I never completed the quilt and, regrettably, I ended up selling the top.  So I decided to make another one which I definitely plan to keep.  Unfortunately, the Kate Spain charm packs I used in 2010 are no longer available and impossible to find.  I do love the red, aqua, and green color combo and have been collecting similar color fabrics so I'm good to go. The top is made with 25 blocks; and each block consists of HST and 4-patch units.   Since the units are made from 5-inch charms, it's not a very difficult pattern.  So far I've only made these 12 HST units and I also have all the charm squares cut out.  Not a whole lot of progress but at least it's a start.  The remaining HST and 4-patch units...
