Autumn Fall Quilt Wall Hanging #248 Size: 58" square Started 8/5/20 - Finished 8/27/20 I am happy to finally finish this wall hanging for my DGD#1, just in time for fall. There are 121 nickel patches in an 11 x 11 grid. DGD#1 lives in Georgia, so I will mail it, and hopefully, it will get to her next week. I thought I'd get a little fancy with my FMQ and quilted little acorns in the center squares of the X's and O's. I also tried my hand at quilting some leaves on the borders.  They're not perfect, so I'm glad they don't show up much in the dark brown color.  I'm beginning to feel more comfortable with FMQ and enjoying the process more. I LOVE the backing print!  Wouldn't it make a great tablecloth or runner?  And because DGD#1 told me she wanted a wall hanging, I added a sleeve using the same backing fabric. Autumn Stretched Star Quilt #219 Size:  57" square I finished the top for this quilt last month and posted about it here .   And, I finally got it quilted with an all-over design and added the binding by machine. Fall is one of my favorite seasons, and this quilt will be perfect for the cooler months.  I'm definitely keeping this one! Remember, the best things in life are quilted!

Northern Lights Christmas Quilt #217 Size: 47" x 60" Remember this quilt top that I blogged about here ? Well, I finally finished it, and I think I’m lovin’ it!  The pattern is Northern Lights, and it’s another nickel quilt from Pat Speth. I made this quilt from a stash of Christmas fabrics I’ve had for a few years.  I cut the fabrics into 5-inch squares, found a pattern I liked, and put it all together into a baggie as a kit. Last year, I pulled out the kit and put the blocks together, but I wasn’t thrilled with the color combo … the background just didn’t seem right, so I put it aside to work on other projects. Well, 2010 being the year to finish those UFOs, I tackled this project and finally finished it!  But, even when I completed the top, I still wasn’t thrilled with it … it just didn’t sing to me.  I struggled with the borders and finally decided, the heck with it, I’ll just make it borderless.  But now that it’s finished?  It sings loud and pro...
