Square Dance Stash Buster Quilt #260 Size: 56" x 64" Started 11/27/20 - Finished 12/16/20 Although I think the colors are pretty, the blue-and-yellow combo is not my favorite. So when I joined the 2020 Stash Buster Challenge, I decided to use up any yellow-blue floral fabrics that have been around forever. I think the floral fabrics are pretty by themselves, but they just didn't rock my socks. So another yellow-and-blue quilt made its way to my project list. Having said all that, I love the end result of this quilt.  I wasn't sure about it when I started, but I'm very happy with it now.  This quilt was so much fun to make.  I can see why some folks made more than one quilt for the challenge. I used a cotton-blend sheet with a pretty floral print as the backing.  I would have preferred to use a "darker" backing to go with the front, but I went with what I had on hand. Single Wedding Ring Quilt #259 Size: 64" x 78" Started 9/2/20 - Finished 12/3/20  I am so happy to finally finish this Single Wedding Ring (or Crown of Thorns if you prefer) quilt for my friend, who recently got married.  I'm really happy with it. I really love these floral fabrics which I've had in my stash for years, and  have been hoarding because they are so pretty to look at.  This is the third quilt I've made with these fabrics, and all have been gifted.  I've used up quite a bit of this floral stash, but I still have enough to make a quilt for myself.  Another project for 2021. 😃 The backing is a very pretty floral design, which is actually a sheet I bought last year and saved for just the right project.  I think it's perfect. Bobby Dazzler Quilt #258  Size: 46" x 58" Started 9/2/20 - Finished 12/3/20 This is the Bobby Dazzler Quilt kit, a UFO that I started in September and posted about here ,  here , and here .  I'm glad I was able to finish it before the end of the year. I think I really love everything about this quilt: the star blocks, the colors, the fabrics.  They're all so pretty. I quilted it with an E2E loopy heart design.  It's the same one I used for this quilt . The backing is a beautiful all-over design of pink roses, which I thought was perfect for this quilt. And, yes, I fixed that mess on the back.  I took it off the frame and diligently picked out the loose stitches.  I was able to mark the heart design by following the stitching holes, then I did FMQ on my regular machine.  I'm glad it was only one row and not a big quilt. Charming Christmas Quilt #257  Size: 56" x 68" Started 10/27/20 - Finished 11/20/20 Yay! I finally finished my Charming Christmas Quilt, more than a week before December!  I can't believe I was able to finish this quilt in 3 weeks.  I posted about my work-in-progress here , here , and here . I am really glad I decided to do a pieced border.  It's much more interesting than a plain simple border. Many of these prints are from 1/2 yards and FQs I bought over the past couple of years, but about half of the fabrics are from a bag of scraps I bought at the thrift store last year.  The scrappy white background and inner border also include cotton sheet scraps. The original design uses 25 Jacob Ladder blocks, but I decided to make my quilt smaller with only 20 blocks. The pattern instructs you to make the blocks before deciding on a layout, but somehow I missed that part.  Instead of making the blocks individually, I laid out each 4-patch and HST unit in rows and ...

Floral Lucky Stars Quilt #256 Size:  57" x 69" Started 8/18/20 - Finished 11/13/20 I finished the top for this quilt more than 2 months ago and posted about my work-in-progress here and here . I am so happy to finally get it quilted and bound so I can gift it. Lucky Stars by Atkinson Designs is one of my favorite patterns, and I love the floral fabrics in this quilt.  I have enough to make another quilt, and I'm tempted to make one for myself.😃 The backing is reddish-pink paisley that complements the red and pink overall color scheme of the top.  I also used the same fabric for the binding, which is sewn by machine. I quilted it with a simple loopy heart E2E pantograph, which is a fast and easy design that goes well with this pattern.  And, I used lightweight polyester batting. Frolic Mystery Quilt #255 Size: 82" square Started 1/13/20 - Finished 11/4/20 I've worked on this Bonnie Hunter Frolic Mystery quilt since January and was really pushing to get it finished before Bonnie's 2020 mystery quilt was released.   I am so happy to report that Frolic is finally complete! I believe this is Bonnie's 17th mystery quilt, and her first one was in 2007. I always thought her mystery quilts were so beautiful, but they looked complicated.  Plus, the "mystery" aspect of the pattern was intimidating.  In addition to all that, the pattern is released during the busy holiday season, and I just didn't have the time to make one.   But last year, I decided to jump on the bandwagon.   I waited until January to start and was trying hard to catch up with the clues before the big reveal.  I was a couple of clues behind when Bonnie revealed the final quilt, and I fell in love.  I was so motivated that I quickly finished the center, ...
