Weekly Finish...Or Not: Two Christmas Tops

Image
This top has been a UFO for years  and is a Thimbleberries pattern from Lynette Jensen's Beginner's Luck  book.  The tree and star blocks were already made so this was a quick and easy top to complete. I decided I wanted to make a Christmas tree wall hanging to add to my holiday decor.  This pattern is Oh, Christmas Tree  from Annie's Craft Store .  It measures 32" x 44" and is smaller than what I wanted but it'll do for now. I hope I'm able to complete the quilts by Christmas but probably not.  For now, they are added to my "to be quilted" pile. Hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving with family and friends!   Sometimes you just want to make something that is simple and fast. After making 7 quilt tops for Project Linus which I blogged about here , I wanted to make a few more.  I have a total of 11 charity tops that are now in the "to be quilted" pile - the pile that just keeps growing! Weekly Finish...Or Not: More Quilt Tops Aplenty

Maple Leaf GO! Quilt For the longest time, I've wanted to make a fall quilt with maple leaves and was so happy to find the Falling Leaves Throw Quilt pattern on the Accuquilt site.  I've now had my GO! Big cutter for two years and I love it!  Making this top was so fast and easy using my cutter and dies. Thanksgiving is around the corner, but I'll likely not have time to finish the quilt by then as I'll be taking a trip next week to Idaho for my cousin's 80th birthday - it's a surprise! Halloween Wicked Eve Panel Halloween Raven Moon Panel I've been quilting for 20+ years and have never been a fan of panel quilts.  I didn't see them as "real" quilts but rather as "cheater" quilts.  That is until two years ago when my friend asked me to make a quilt for her Veteran husband.  This panel had been in my stash for a while and knew it'd be perfect.  They loved it! Weekly Finish #18: Warmth of our Stars

Warmth of Our Stars   Finished Size:  84" square I LOVE this quilt!  It is definitely one of my favorite quilts. This quilt was designed by Scott Flanagan and was featured in Love of Quilting magazine as a 6-part series.  It is mainly strip piecing and was easy to put together.  It is so simple but so elegant and beautiful! Earlier this year I was invited to my cousin's birthday party for her 80th birthday in November.  Of course, I had to make her a special quilt.  When I saw this design on social media, I knew it was just right for my cousin, who is a stellar musician and used to be a Folklorico dancer. The original pattern uses a plain border or piano keys as an alternate border.  I preferred the pieced border but needed more time for one.  Luckily, I had this striped fabric in my stash which was perfect. I used the Music Meander E2E design from Pro-Stitcher. I chose this fabric because the colors match the top.  If you look closely you will see the Jack O'Lantern and
