Happy September! Does This Happen To You?

How many of you have the same problem I do with taking pictures of quilts?  I always struggle with this.  Should I place it on a bed?  What about the floor?  Or maybe a chair or a couch?

I know!  Wouldn’t it be better if I could get someone to hold it up for me?  Oh, sure it would, but around my house, that’s like pulling teeth!  If I’m lucky enough to snag DH or DS for the job, I’d better be super quick and not take too long!  Or else this happens:

And, I’d better not take more than one picture of the same quilt, or I will get “the look” … you know, the look that says “You gotta be kidding!  Again?!  Better hurry or I’m outta here!”

No weekly finish today, but lots of WIPs!  I’m so glad September is here and that school has started.  I’m looking forward to the fall season and cooler weather.  Have a great weekend!

  1. I know what you mean! I don't have anyone to help me since my husband won't even attempt to help. But he did buy me a new camera with a super lens which now eliminates this problem. You can get super close or far away without moving.

  2. Oh yeah I struggle with the photo taking too. I sometimes use the clothesline, the back gate or the tree just outside our back gate. But there is no way I could get anyone to hold a quilt up for me. Its not worth the grief. I am so not a natural photographer.

  3. HAHA. I love that first photo, it made me laugh out loud. I have a pretty big deck so I usually just lay it out flat but I'm always envious of the people who can hold it straight up and have someone else take the pix.

  4. Definitely! I usually opt the for the floor, but there's nothing artistic about it at all.

  5. Rita, you have me laughing. Helen at Aunt Henny's had the same kind of post today and her hubby was helping her and it was hysterical. I think this is one of the biggest problems for taking pics. I usually don't get a good pic until the quilt is hanging where it is going to be living.

Tomorrow, Kevin is building me a design wall and maybe that will be a place I can hang it temporarily for pics. Steph
