Weekly Finish #22: Moment of Zen
Moment of Zen with Cider
This is an original design by Jo's Country Junction which I saw last year in a blog post.
The pattern was published in the August/September 2020 issue of American Patchwork & Quilting and I knew I had that issue.
I also knew it'd be perfect for my niece Sandra and ordered a bundle of fat quarters of the Cider fabric with the intention of giving her the quilt for her birthday this year in February. Well, time flew by and I missed her birthday deadline.
But I was determined to make this quilt for her and started it the first week of May and finally finished it last week. I will be seeing her in a couple of weeks and I'm sure she'll be surprised when I give it to her.
I quilted it with the Curls Too design installed in my Moxie and used Warm & Natural batting.
I LOVE how this quilt turned out and am tempted to keep it .... IJK! I'm seriously thinking of making one for myself but it would have to be with a different fabric as the Cider line by Basic Grey is now very hard to find.
UPDATE: I gifted this quilt to my darling niece on August 7 to celebrate her birthday in April. She LOVED it!

Oooh, what a lovely quilt to make for your niece and in such a generous size, too. I'm sure it is going to be well loved!
ReplyDeleteSuch a striking quilt .... beautiful and your niece will love it!
ReplyDeleteI'd be tempted to keep this one too! Your niece will love it. Such a pretty quilt. Thanks for sharing on Wednesday Wait Loss.
ReplyDeleteI just love the way this warm and soft palette turned out. A winner all round!
ReplyDeleteSuch a gorgeous quilt. What a masterpiece!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Orange and blue are my favorite complementary color pair, and they look lovely in this quilt alongside the greenish browns and yellows! (BTW: I tend to fall in love with lines after they've been out for a while. It's hard to find designs from Cider, but Sew Lux Fabrics has some yardage left. Just sayin'!)
