WIP Wednesday: Dandy Star Stash Buster

The Dandy Star block was last year's Stash Buster Challenge by Border Creek Station.

I made this red and white quilt for the challenge and loved it so much that I wanted to make another.

I was motivated by this one because I have a bin full of green fabrics I've had for years.  But once I started working on my blocks I lost inspiration.  My greens just aren't speaking to me so I decided to call it quits after making these 42 blocks.  I thought I would just bind it and call 'er done but maybe I'll add an inner border and do a pieced outer border to spruce it up.

I'm happy to join these linky parties.  Be sure to visit them to see what other quilters are sharing.

Until next time ...
Be happy and keep on quilting!

  1. Sometimes quilts just don't speak to us and we're have to move on. Personally I love it but I do like your red version better, probably because red is my color! Thanks for sharing on Wednesday Wait Loss.

  2. Very cool block. Thanks for sharing the source. Dare I admit I saved all the blocks listed. Sometimes if we step away from a top when we come back what bothered us doesn't bug us any longer. (Hey, it's worth a try.) Your green quilt would make a great neutral charity quilt if you don't like it.

  6. I like both of your dandy star block quilts. The inner border on the red one is fantastic! Perhaps you will love the green one more if you add the same kind of border? Thanks for sharing your work on Design Wall Mondays. Hugs, Judy
