Weekly Finish...Or Not: Pinwheel Sampler

Pinwheel Sampler Top 2022

I started this Pinwheel Sampler top in March and finished it last week.  It is a remake of a quilt I made in 2010, pictured below.

Pinwheel Sampler Quilt 2010

This was a pinwheel sampler quilt along by Rachel Griffith Designs.  Although she no longer blogs, the instructions for the quilt along are still available here.  I also blogged about my 2010 quilt here and here.  Not long after I finished the quilt, I sold it because I didn't think I needed another quilt and now regret it (boo hoo!).

The original fabric was called California Dreamin' by Jenean Morrison for Free Spirit.  I really love the colors and am glad I had some pieces left so I could make another.

If you compare the two quilts, you will notice I slightly changed the placement of the blocks and added some pieces from my current stash but for the most part, they are much the same.

I think the colors are perfect for spring and summer and I hope to have it quilted and finished soon.  This one I'm definitely keeping!

  1. Hi Rita! I am stunned and amazed that you could replicate your quilt from 2010 so closely! I am a huge fan of pinwheels. Well, who isn't, right?! They are so fun and happy looking. Great job. Thanks for linking up for TGIFF today. {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne

  2. So sorry you sold the first quilt as it is lovely. But happy day, you had enough scraps to make another one! Can't wait to see the finish. Thanks for sharing on Wednesday Wait Loss.
