Raven Moon Stash Buster Quilt


Finished Size:  77" x 91"


I LOVE this Halloween quilt with its ravens, skulls, and spider webs.


It is the second quilt  I made this quilt for the 2022 Stash Buster Challenge by Border Creek Station using the Jericho Walls block.  Each block finishes at 10" and this quilt has 44 blocks.


I finished the top at the end of October and posted about it here.  But I wasn't able to complete the quilt in time for Halloween.  That's okay cuz it's ready for next year!


The E2E web quilt design with the spider (so cute!) was pre-installed in the Pro-Stitcher LITE for the Moxie.  


The pieced backing has an all-over sugar skulls design by Robert Kaufman, and the batting is Warm & Natural.  And the label completes the quilt.

Tutorial: Fold and Turn Coasters

These fold-and-turn coasters are SO easy and fun to make!  I first saw this pattern in 2002 at a guild meeting, and the instructions were handwritten.  There were no pictures … only hand drawings.  Well, we’ve come a long way in 8 years! I made this set of 4 coasters to include with the potholders I made for Amy’s Potholder Pass #2 . These coasters were made with five 5-inch cotton squares and one 5-inch flannel square.  These can also be made in other sizes as long as the squares are equal in size.  Suggested square sizes range from 4-1/2” to 6” … your choice.  You may also use one 5-inch batting square, but I found batting was a tad too thick.  But, again, your choice. Instructions: (1) Y ou will choose three different fabrics.  Two fabrics will be used for the top of the coaster and one will be used for the bottom (backing).  I chose the light blue for the bottom: (2) Cut fabric to the desired square size.  I used 5” squares. Weekly Finish #13: Halloween No Point Stars 2020

  I previously posted about my Halloween No Point Stars top and I am happy to say that I finally finished the quilt ... just in time for Halloween! I used a polyester snow blanket remnant for the batting.  Yes, a snow blanket used for Christmas villages.  This was not originally intentional.  I didn't want to use Warm & Natural as I was not going to use this as a "blanket" but rather as a display/decoration.  I wanted a lightweight batting so I looked through my bin of batting remnants and found what I thought was just right. As I was basting the quilt, I noticed some glitter - not much - just a tiny bit on the "batting".  It finally dawned on me why it felt a little different!  How did this snow blanket get mixed in with my regular batting remnants?  Anyway, I was already halfway done so I decided to go with it. Weekly Finish #1: Free To Be Wild Horse Panel

  Free To Be Wild Finished Size: 67" x 72" I saw this quilt on social media a couple of years ago promoting Riley Blake's Back In The Saddle Collection.  I was immediately captivated and knew I wanted to make it for my daughter. Sadly, this was an older collection, and this particular panel with the black horse was nowhere to be found. However, I found this panel with the running wild horses from the same collection and knew my daughter would love it. In December, I decided to make this quilt for my daughter's birthday this month.  I searched social media for a pattern and found a tutorial for this quilt by Quiltscapes . Luckily, I found the pillow panels from the same collection for the quilt's four corners.  Sewing the top was fast and easy -- just add strips for borders and done. I quilted it with an E2E design from My Creative Stitches and used Warm & Natural for batting. My daughter's birthday is next week.  But she came for a quick visit this past we
